numbers for the specific product as listed below.
All Evinrude and Johnson outboards require the appropriate model number. This is located on the model identification tag which is located on the outboard transom stern bracket. That's the part of the outboard that attaches to the boat.
For OMC engines and sterndrives, you will need the model number of the engine which is usually located on the valve cover, or the top plastic cover over the carburetor or air intake.
All Mercruiser products require the appropriate serial number.
For Mercruiser engines,
you will need the engine serial number located on the valve cover,
or the plastic cover over the carburetor or air intake.
For Mercruiser sterndrives the sterndrive serial number is located on the upper port
side of the drive, or the valve cover of the engine, or on the plastic cover
over the carburetor or air intake. If the sterndrive serial number is not available then the engine serial number will be the next best.
